When bees collect nectar from flowers they also collect pollen from the flowers at the same time, as the pollen sticks to their bodies and to their legs. The bee then adds some of the nectar and some bee saliva or enzymes to this pollen. This creates “bee pollen” which is then loaded into sacs on the bee’s legs The bees take this back to the hive to use this as a high nutrient food for the hive. On their return to the hive some of this pollen is collected from the sacs as they enter the hive. Beekeepers collect these granules and they are then they are flash frozen to maintain freshness. The flower parts and insect fragments are then separated and taken away. This results in pure bee pollen granules. It is a fact, that many people believe that by eating this pollen in the form of granules they are eating bee pollen it in its most natural form, and as such it will give maximum benefits. Just one granule contains every vitamin and nutrient necessary for well-balanced health, or looked at another way, is the equivalent to a plate full of vegetables! How do we use bee pollen granules? The granules can be eaten as they are, but they will be quite chewy, have a bitter-sweet taste and are not really digestible, and will pass rapidly through the body which means that the body will only be able to absorb 2–3% of the benefits. This is because the granules are encased in protective outer shells or husks. In order to gain the maximum benefits it is necessary to soak the granules for 12 hours before eating, in order to split the husks of each grain of pollen. However, once the granules are broken down by soaking, it is then possible to gain 90% of the benefits rather than 2-3%! Obviously, the importance of soaking is needed to gain maximum benefits. You can eat these granules in different ways such as by just putting them into your mouth and chewing, or alternatively by sprinkling over your breakfast cereals, yoghurt or by putting into smoothies, drink of choice etc. Reviews| No reviews for this product.
